I have been karting for over 3 years competitively. I first started driving a kart when I was 8 years old and drove once every two weeks at a place called RCA. When I started getting better at it, I started karting more often and did it every week. After a year of karting my family had to relocate to Dubai because of their jobs. When we were in Dubai I started racing more competitively against other drivers that had been racing for more than 4 years. I joined a karting Extra Curricular Activity that allowed me to go each weekend and practice.
During this time I also raced in the Sodi World Series (SWS), When I started in the SWS I wasn’t very good and always finished in the back somewhere. After a while of practicing I joined the Emirates School Karting Championship (ESKC) so that I could race with other school teams. In the first round of the ESKC we did okay for our first time in a series together. We all kept practicing and when the second round of the ESKC occurred, our team did much better.
We finished the ESKC in the top 10, but my friend and I were practicing with each other every weekend and both competed against each other in the same series, the SWS series. My first year in karting was over in December and I was still practicing to get ready for the next season. My second year (or season) went much better than the first year. I was qualifying in the top 5 and was finishing each race somewhere on the podium. I even managed to grab first a couple of times. After doing very well in the SWS I joined the ESKC for the second time.
This time my team and I came first out of the whole event. I also competed in the Ramadan Challenge and won the whole series of that. After two full years of competitive karting I got my first 2-stroke kart. I tested it and fell in love with the kart. After driving the kart for 2 months my family and I moved back to Thailand, now I have to follow a strict workout routine to keep my body in shape for the race season in the 2-stroke karts.
